You could visit Sotogrande for a month and not need to leave the estate. Many people do. Activities you can participate in are many. ….RELAX, then REPEAT.
Exploring Andalucía is a very rewarding experience. Sevilla, Cordoba, and Malaga are major cities with rich history and therefore much culture. Places like the Alhambra in Granada are world class tourist venues.
Day trips to Ski above Granada in the winter are very common. The drive is a comfortably within two and half hours.
We all talk about seeing Africa from Sotogrande. Well, it is also possible to visit. Either on a day trip to Tangiers or take a few days and drive to Marrakesh, the quintessential Moroccan town.
Marbella: For a change of scene, and particularly night life you can drive to Marbella, just 30 minutes away by car. Puerto Banus is not everyone’s idea of a fun place, but if you are looking for a wild night out it is there for the taking.
Tarifa: Used to be the European capital city for surfers. Today we still see surfing, but wind surfing, kite surfing and now wing surfing are all are all the rage. And if you do not surf, then the beaches are amazing, and the bars and restaurants also worth the visit.
Gibraltar: Just 20 minutes away is the British enclave of Gibraltar. Regular flights to the UK and maybe soon to other European cities if the Schengen treaty extension currently under negotiation permits.
Gaucin, Casares or Castellar: Andalucía is well known for its white villages. A drive up into the hills is a great way to spend a Sunday, stopping to enjoy spectacular views, and having lunch in one of the number of restaurants available.
